Let’s face it, there are instances when we simply cannot make it to the gym.
Perhaps you have a little child at home or a tight schedule.
Perhaps you simply don’t want to deal with a crowded gym and fighting the masses.
Sounds like the ideal time to work out at home and get in shape in the privacy of your own home gym.
While some people struggle to stick to a home workout program, others flourish and discover that they can push their training routines to new heights.
Take a look at some of the advantages of having your own home gym:
You’ll be able to save money.
Working out at home could save you a lot of money in the long run, depending on how much equipment you’ll need.
Many gyms charge not only a monthly membership price (some as high as RM300 per month! ) but also extra fees for things like group classes and personal training. With the popularity of bodyweight-only workouts, all you need is a little room to work out for free!
Multi-purpose equipment, such as dumbbells, resistance bands, a yoga/stretching mat, or kettlebells, is popular among at-home fitness enthusiasts. You can even combine them with a cardio machine like a treadmill, elliptical, cycle, or rower.
While such equipment has an upfront cost, it will be less expensive over time than subscribing for a membership where you are simply renting equipment.
Time-saving device
You will save time traveling to and from the gym, checking in, changing in the locker room, waiting for equipment, and saving time driving to and from the gym.
All of this can easily take up more time than your workout! You can practically roll out of bed and train, with plenty of time to eat a satisfying post-workout breakfast before starting your day.
After work, you may get a workout in and cook a meal at home before unwinding for the evening.
Being able to squeeze in a workout whenever you can is a significant plus if you’re a stay-at-home mom or work from home.
There are no crowds.
While most commercial gyms have a good selection of equipment, many other people usually want to utilize it as well.
Among other times, the period after working hours is the busiest.
If you exercise during peak hours, you’ll have to contend with people in the gym and in, the parking lot, and the locker area.
Remember that clubs want (and need) to sell memberships, so if you don’t want to deal with the crowds that often accompany your gym trips, a home gym might be a better option for you.
Concentrate on Your Workout
At the gym, there might be a lot of distractions.
Everything from those who wanted to talk to the guy who asked, “Can you give me a spot?”
Finding a space to zone out and focus in the gym shouldn’t be more complex than the workout itself.
No one should bother you at home, so you should be able to focus better on your fitness regimen and reap the benefits of a more productive workout.
You Decide On The Music
Music can be highly motivating when working out, and being at home allows you to listen to whatever you want and at whatever volume you want.
You also won’t have to put up with those obnoxious earphones that keep falling out!
By shouting out tunes, you can even work out your core. Keep it light and enjoyable!
Wear Anything You Want
We all know that fitness should take precedence above appearances, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t work out on days when you don’t want to see anyone!
No one will notice that you’re working out in last night’s t-shirt and filthy sweatpants at home. All you have to be concerned about is getting some sweat on your brow.
When you work out at home, you can wear whatever you want without fear of being criticized, scrutinized, or humiliated.
Germs are less prevalent.
Nothing is more frustrating than coming to the gym and discovering that the prior user has left a nice puddle of sweat on your favorite piece of equipment.
Commercial gyms are infested with pathogens, from the cardio equipment to the benches to the weights.
You can at least keep track of who has used the equipment and keep it clean at home. If you go to the gym regularly, that’s fantastic, and you should keep it up! However, if going to the gym is a significant roadblock to your fitness, consider setting up a home gym.
Make it specific to your needs and start modest so you’ll be motivated to use it.
